Fleece Blanket Mission
The Sunday School is again organizing a blanket drive and collecting fleece fabric. Each piece needs to be larger than 1 1/2 yards and patterned or solid to make tie-blankets for the patients at A.I. duPont Hospital. Cash donations will also be accepted to help us buy fleece. Please give your fabric or donations to Kim Berkey or leave them in the office marked “Kim Berkey- Sunday School blankets”. The Sunday School children will help tie the blankets and attach a tag which will read “This blanket was lovingly made for you by the Sunday School class of Asbury United Methodist Church”. After being blessed, the blankets will be delivered in time for Christmas. Thanks in advance for helping us participate in such a practical demonstration of God’s love and care for these little ones!
*In 2017 – we made, blessed, and delivered 37 blankets – an Asbury record! Thanks to all who participated! We are already taking donations (fleece and/or monetary donations) for 2018!
*To show how this ministry has grown, we donated 29 blankets in 2016 and 16 in 2015! It has grown every year and we have been donating since 2011!
